ZERO!~ A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR THE JUDGE @ THE GAMH!!!! - December 20, 2011

Friday, January 20th, the legendary band ZERO will return to San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, giving everyone a reason for a real party.

The show will be a Celebration of Life for lead vocalist, Judge Murphy, who beat liver cancer & received a successful transplant in September of 2011.

This will also be the only core band appearance for ZERO, in the Bay Area for some time; featuring Steve Kimock, Bobby Vega, Greg Anton, Judge Murphy, & Chip Roland.

"They didn't think I would make it. I'm very lucky to be here. During my darkest hour, my musical brethren, friends, & fans showed tremendous support for me & my family. I couldn't have done this without them." (quote Judge Murphy)

This 'Celebration of Life' will commemorate this heartfelt thanks, joy, & power through music, proving that sometimes "A Chance in a Million" happens.

For those of you who came to Lansdale Station by way of Judge's work with ZERO, his old band mates reunite, to rally in benefit.

ANNIVERSARY OF CLASSIC LIVE ALBUM

Zero will perform on Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. These shows mark the 20th anniversary of Chance In A Million, the live album recorded at the GAMH that helped cement Steve Kimock’s place in the guitar pantheon and featured Nicky Hopkins (Rolling Stones), Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead), John Kahn (The Jerry Garcia Band) and many others. The album also featured new Robert Hunter songs delivered in fine voice by Judge Murphy. The band reunites to commemorate the music and to benefit Judge, who is battling liver cancer, awaiting a transplant.

The Crystal Ship of Marin County- Lansdale Station on Haight Street Music News by Don Aters - November 30, 2010

The crystal connotations simply imply the frailties along the long and winding road of rock n’ roll icons. One is perceived as a Shaman of the noted past of San Francisco folklore and the other an ingénue of obvious genetics and augmented with the innate ability to write and play the songs of the heart. The collective efforts of Judge & Lauren Murphy are the collaboration of storied past with a glimpse of an untapped future, a rebirth of the sensationalized San Francisco sound of sixties glory.

Lansdale Station; brought to you by Dennis Cook & Dirty Impound

Northern California’s Lansdale Station come on like a heady rush, rock ‘n’ roll felt down in your bones and delivered like this music still matters and might change the world (though happily free of the hippie stink that ignores the harsh realities of daily existence). Folks that get off on Little Feat, Fairport Convention, Grayson Capps & The Stumpknockers and other quality, rootsy stuff will surely dig Lansdale Station. Loved their kickass debut and impatiently awaiting the next chapter. We thank the band for being our second contributors to The Free Bird Project and hope that long may their rebel spirit rage.
